Haiku Poetry

by Trina Schetzle

WINTER SOLSTICE

winter solstice light
begets frosty morning mood
death not yet awake

CATTAILS

Cattails whispering
ears tickled by the breeze
bring me home again

ROSE

wild rose embraces
fallen blade forgotten here
sweetness never fades

SPRING RAIN

messenger sublime
in solemn presentation
eternal spring rain

DEPARTING GEESE

storm king rides the frost
departing geese abandon
me, alone, again

To Library

CHRYSANTHEMUMS

tiny white russians,
ambassadors of healing
grace my arctic patch

Acquired Taste

Haiku, like good malt
savored slowly, carefully
unassuming warmth
